CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Nidorino pricks up its ears as soon as a suspicious sound alerts it. If a hostile presence approaches, its back spines rise and it charges with its horn. This is described as harder than diamond and injects potent poison when piercing an opponent. Its nervous temperament makes encounters risky: an adrenaline surge further increases the venom's concentration. The Pokédex thus presents a Pokémon whose attack grows more dangerous as tension rises.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Sword shows Nidorino seeking a Moon Stone and breaking rocks in its path with its horn. Pokémon Shield notes that its poison becomes more concentrated as adrenaline rises. The same drive behind its search can therefore worsen a confrontation.
