CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Beedrill patrols rapidly around its nest and vigorously defends its territory. When it feels threatened, other members of the swarm may join it. It does not rely on a single stinger: its forelegs and abdomen carry three poisonous needles. It strikes quickly, withdraws, then returns to attack. The Pokédex thus gives a concrete reason to avoid disturbing its colony: one nest can mobilise several defenders at once.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! locates Beedrill’s three stingers on its forelegs and abdomen. Pokémon Omega Ruby adds that disturbing a nest may provoke a mass attack. The danger comes as much from the number of Pokémon mobilised as from their stingers.
