CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Pikachu's electricity is not only used to drive off opponents. When two Pikachu meet, they may touch tails and exchange electricity as a greeting. The gesture turns an impressive power into a sign of closeness. Behind the sparks and charged cheeks lies a way of getting acquainted that belongs to this small forest-dwelling Pokémon.

A detail worth noticing

On Pikachu smp-SM157, its Ability prevents it from being Paralyzed. Its attack separately deals 10 damage for one Lightning Energy. Megumi Mizutani illustrated this printing: protection against a Special Condition belongs to the ongoing Ability rather than a bonus triggered by the hit.
