Choice Band increases the damage of its holder's attacks against your opponent's Active Pokémon by thirty if that defender is a Pokémon-GX or Pokémon-EX. The bonus applies before Weakness and Resistance. Its usefulness therefore depends on the category of the Active defender, rather than a type requirement imposed on the holder.
