CARDEX BACKGROUND
The Pokémon’s story
Medicham retreats to fields and mountains to meditate. Fasting and yoga sharpen its perception until it can anticipate an opponent’s movements or distinguish their aura. In battle, it dodges with supple steps before striking in the same movement. The Pokédex also credits it with telekinetic powers and remarkable endurance during its long retreats. Its strength comes as much from inner discipline as from the speed of its movements.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.A detail worth noticing
Pokémon Alpha Sapphire credits Medicham with the ability to meditate for a month without eating. Pokémon Black links this fasting to the concentration that lets it detect its opponents’ auras. These entries present mental training as part of its fighting abilities.
