CARDEX BACKGROUND
Alolan Raichu concentrates psychic energy in its tail and rides it like a board. It can thus move as though surfing, turning this body part into support for its weight. This way of traveling belongs to its regional form. The entry even associates it with an English surfing nickname, hodad, highlighting the spectacle of its movements.
Background on this form in the video games; this card’s attacks, edition and finish remain distinct. The reason for Pikachu's particular evolution in Alola is not reduced to a single food in the official Pokédex. It mentions the combined influence of weather, climate, and local food: the explanation remains phrased as a hypothesis.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
