The story behind this Trainer card

Giant Bomb retaliates if its Active holder takes at least one hundred and eighty damage from an opposing attack: ten counters are placed on the attacker, even if the holder is Knocked Out. The Tool must also be discarded at the end of the opponent's turn when attached to one of your Pokémon. Its presence and trigger follow separate duration and incoming-damage conditions.

A detail worth noticing

The holder's Knock Out does not prevent Giant Bomb's stated retaliation when the damage threshold is reached. Discarding at the opponent's turn end remains a separate instruction. The text does not make the Tool permanent when no attack triggers it.
