CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Mareep’s fleece invites people to approach, but its softness conceals electrical activity. The fibres rub together and build up a static charge, while the light at the end of its tail grows brighter. Its body thus provides a visible sign of what is developing inside. The woolly Pokémon’s calm appearance is accompanied by energy that continues to accumulate.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Mareep’s wool needs special treatment before it can be used to make clothing. Pokémon Ultra Sun explains that it readily builds up static electricity. A property useful to the Pokémon therefore becomes a problem to solve for those using its fleece.
