CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Charjabug often stays motionless beneath fallen leaves. It digests plant matter and stores the electricity produced in a pouch inside its body. Its shell protects it from attack; if an enemy persists, it responds with a discharge, particularly from the tips of its mandibles. The Pokédex shows an inconspicuous Pokémon whose food becomes a defensive reserve. Stepping on its shelter can trigger an immediate response.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Moon locates Charjabug's electricity production in its digestion. Pokémon Shield notes that fallen leaves fuel this process, and Pokémon Sword places the current at its mandible tips. Its electrical defense therefore begins with what it eats.
