CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Crobat's four wings give it faster and quieter flight, especially after nightfall. This adaptation has a drawback: its legs have become wings, leaving it clumsy on the ground. The Pokédex also describes its need for blood to stay strong enough to fly. In the air it approaches silently; on land, the same body reveals its weakness.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Crobat's four wings are also useful in tight spaces. Pokémon Shield says it can pass through narrow caves without slowing down by freely controlling each wing. Its speed therefore does not depend only on open skies: it remains useful where a large flying Pokémon would lack room.
