CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Gholdengo appears to be made of a thousand coins stacked into a sturdy body. Yet it bonds easily with others and readily makes friends. When a confrontation comes, the coins also become projectiles: it launches them rapidly one after another to overwhelm its opponent. The Pokédex connects a sociable temperament with a fighting method based on the very material of its body. Its apparent wealth is therefore more than decoration.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Scarlet describes 1,000 coins making up Gholdengo's body and emphasizes how easily it forms friendships. Pokémon Violet describes its rapid-fire attack: it sends successive coins at an enemy from its robust body.
