The Pokémon’s story

Burmy surrounds itself with a cloak to protect a frail body sensitive to cold. At the slightest damage, it repairs it with whatever it finds nearby. Heat also changes this protection: its cloak becomes thinner in warm weather. Wherever it is, it manages to make one. This covering is therefore no fixed decoration but a shelter it continually maintains and adapts.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Legends: Arceus specifies that Burmy repairs its cloak even when only slightly damaged. The body hidden underneath is thin and vulnerable to cold. Another entry adds that this protection becomes thinner during warm periods.
