CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Eiscue comes from a polar region and reached Galar carried by ocean currents. It tolerates heat poorly and constantly cools its head with ice. To feed, it uses its hair as a fishing tool. The Pokédex thus connects its journey and current habits through the cold: displaced far from its original environment, it continues to protect its head from heat while finding food near the water.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Sword places Eiscue's origins in a polar land and recounts its arrival in Galar by sea. Pokémon Shield reveals an unusual fishing method: it uses its hair to catch something to eat.
