CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Spidops stretches strong, sticky threads across its territory to trap intruders. It can also cling to branches and ceilings, then move silently. Prey may thus be seized before even noticing its presence. The Pokédex describes hunting based on preparing the terrain and remaining discreet. Its threads do more than suspend it: they turn the place it occupies into a network of traps.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Violet notes that Spidops covers its territory with tough, adhesive threads to prepare traps. Pokémon Scarlet credits it with an almost silent approach from branches or ceilings. An intruder can therefore be awaited on the ground or surprised from above.
