CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Frillish spreads its veil-like limbs to seize prey and drag it into the depths. The Pokédex even mentions eight thousand meters below the surface. Almost invisible poisonous stingers cover these same limbs and can paralyze the victim. A legend says Frillish were once inhabitants of a sunken city, transformed into Pokémon. This origin remains a reported story; its way of hunting in the abyss, however, is described directly.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Sword places Frillish's hunting as deep as 8,000 meters. Ultra Moon mentions the stingers hidden on its limbs. Pokémon Shield presents its connection to a sunken city as a legend, without establishing it as fact.
