CARDEX BACKGROUND
Togekiss is associated with places where peace reigns. Stories say it appears there to bestow blessings, while avoiding periods of war and conflict. It also seems to seek the company of respectful people disinclined to pointless quarrels. This reputation has led to its depiction on good-luck charms since ancient times. The Pokédex thus draws a connection between its supposed behaviour, the values attributed to it and human objects bearing its image.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Pokémon Sword explains that Togekiss rarely appears when conflicts multiply. Pokémon Shield connects its reputation as a giver of blessings with its presence on ancient good-luck charms. This decorative motif therefore preserves a belief associated with the species.
