CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Ponyta’s first steps are less assured than its great runs might suggest. As a newborn, it struggles to run properly. Its legs gain strength by following other members of its species. This spirited-looking Pokémon learns to move gradually, through contact with the group, before displaying all the ease associated with its silhouette.

A detail worth noticing

Ponyta swsh12-021 deals 50 damage for Fire plus Colorless, but also does 10 damage to itself. Teeziro illustrated this printing. No coin flip determines the recoil: it accompanies every use of the attack, distinguishing this reference from Ponyta swsh10-021 and its 20-damage hit.
