CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Turtwig has a very direct relationship with earth, water and sun. Its shell is made of hardened soil, while its body photosynthesizes in the light. Near the lakes where it lives, drinking also contributes to its protection's strength. This small silhouette thus brings together several parts of the landscape, as though its own body preserved a living portion of it.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Turtwig bw8-1 can devote an attack to healing 20 of its own damage. Razor Leaf separately deals 30 damage for Grass plus two Colorless Energy. Kouki Saitou illustrated this printing: healing is not added to the hit because the effects belong to different attacks.
