CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Hitmonlee extends and retracts its legs like springs to hit a distant enemy. This reach increases further when it chains kicks together. Excellent balance lets it launch a flurry from almost any position. After battle, it massages its legs to soothe fatigue. The Pokédex describes a fighter whose power depends on flexibility and bodily control as much as on the hardness of its feet.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Omega Ruby reports that Hitmonlee massages its legs after a battle. Pokémon Shield explains that it can lengthen or retract them at will. The weapon giving it exceptional reach therefore also needs care after exertion.
