CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Zigzagoon rarely travels in a straight line. Curiosity leads it from place to place to examine its surroundings, and this zigzag walk helps it discover objects in grass or underground. Its back hairs are hard; it rubs them against trees to mark territory. The Pokédex even describes a battle trick: facing an enemy, it sometimes plays dead. Its restlessness therefore conceals an attentive search and several means of defense.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Zigzagoon's back does more than give it a bristly appearance. Pokémon Alpha Sapphire specifies that it rubs it against trees to mark territory. The same entry recounts that it can play dead to deceive an opponent.
