The Pokémon’s story

Gothita sometimes stares at a point that no one else seems to see. Its feelers resemble ribbons and concentrate psychic energy; despite its young age, it can already use them in battle. The Pokédex also says it can be heard whispering when apparently alone. Some suppose it is talking to an invisible presence, but the entries do not present that explanation as certain. Its gaze leaves the mystery intact.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Sword describes Gothita as a young Pokémon already able to concentrate an attack in its feelers. Pokémon Shield reports whispers supposedly addressed to an invisible entity. The first describes an ability; the second remains an interpretation of its behavior.
