The Pokémon’s story

Mandibuzz glides high in the sky to spot weakened Pokémon, then carries them to its nest. Bones from its catches build this shelter and adorn its body. Cubone often appears in accounts of its hunting. Despite this harshness, it readily takes in a lost Vullaby and protects it until it can leave the nest. The Pokédex draws a contrast between its treatment of prey and of the young it cares for.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Sun says many bones used to build Mandibuzz's nest come from Cubone. Pokémon Sword says it also raises lost Vullaby. The same nest can therefore hold the remains of hunts and shelter a young Pokémon.
