CARDEX BACKGROUND
Espeon seems to know what is about to happen, but the Pokédex connects this perception to exceptionally fine sensitivity. The hairs on its body allow it to read movements in the air and anticipate an opponent's actions. The slightest current becomes information. Its serenity then takes on the meaning of constant attention to changes that others do not notice.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later. The gem on Espeon's forehead accumulates psychic power in sunlight, according to Pokémon Ultra Moon. The same entry says it does not battle as well at night. Light therefore plays a direct part in the described workings of its powers.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
