CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Vulpix’s silhouette changes as it grows. The young Pokémon has only one white tail; this later splits to form the six tails that make it so recognisable. Its beauty tells a story of maturation. A fire in its belly also lets it produce balls of flame, giving this carefully groomed appearance real power.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

On Vulpix 28/197, the first attack does 10 damage for one Fire Energy. Confuse Ray costs two Fire Energy, does 20 damage, and Confuses the opponent's Active Pokémon. The difference therefore includes a Special Condition guaranteed by the text rather than a coin flip. The image is credited to 0313.
