CARDEX BACKGROUND

The story behind this Trainer card

This older Rare Candy wording chooses one of your Basic Pokémon in play and allows a matching Stage 1 or Stage 2 card from your hand to be placed onto it. The text specifies that this counts as evolving. Its stage choice is therefore broader than wordings restricted to Stage 2. The card played must still belong to the targeted Pokémon's evolution line.

Background on this Trainer card’s printed effect; its edition, language and finish remain distinct.

A detail worth noticing

This Rare Candy printing explicitly names Stage 1 and Stage 2. It should not be confused with a version offering only Stage 2. Placement still counts as evolution and requires a match between the cards.
