CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Dedenne needs to find electricity around it because it struggles to produce enough of its own. Its tail can plug into a household socket or draw energy near a power plant. Its whiskers serve two purposes: sensing its surroundings and transmitting electric shocks. They also let it pick up signals from others of its kind to locate food. The Pokédex depicts a small Pokémon that depends on the electricity network as well as communication with its companions.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Sun jokes about the electricity bills after Dedenne visits a house. The fact behind the joke is specific: it uses sockets to steal electricity. Its lower whiskers, meanwhile, release the electricity it has obtained.
