The Pokémon’s story

Vullaby cannot yet fly with its undersized wings. It hops around the nest and wears a skull for protection. As it grows quickly, it must change this often; the youngest sometimes inherit those left by older members. Individuals quarrel over the most comfortable models. The Pokédex describes a turbulent childhood in which bodily protection, play and nest life revolve around this unusual object.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Shield says young Vullaby receive skulls previously worn by their elders. Pokémon Ultra Moon notes that they must replace them often as they grow. This equipment is therefore not fixed: it circulates and changes with each generation in the nest.
