The role of this Energy

Counter Energy normally provides one Colorless Energy. It becomes much more flexible when its player has more Prize cards remaining than the opponent and it is attached to a Pokémon that is neither a Pokémon-GX nor a Pokémon-EX. In that case, it can supply Energy of any type, up to two at a time. This help is intended for a specific situation of being behind. If either condition is missing, the card retains only its ordinary Colorless contribution.

A detail worth noticing

The text combines two independent checks: remaining Prize cards and the category of the attached Pokémon. Being behind is insufficient for a Pokémon-GX or Pokémon-EX. Even when the bonus works, 'every type' offers type flexibility with a maximum of two Energy units.
