CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Gurdurr carries a steel beam to maintain its strength and handles it skillfully. It can quickly dismantle a building, but the Pokédex says it is less talented at constructing one. With its kind and Machoke, it enters muscle contests. The loser sometimes hides after the event. Behind its worker's appearance is therefore a proud competitor more comfortable lifting and taking apart than building.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Shield distinguishes Gurdurr's talents: it easily dismantles a building but is less successful at construction. Pokémon Sword describes strength contests with Machoke. Carrying a beam is training for it as much as a work tool.
