CARDEX BACKGROUND
Articuno crosses snowy peaks, freezing moisture in the air. The beating of its wings can herald snowfall, and its silhouette sometimes appears to travellers lost in the mountains. The Pokédex portrays it as a Legendary Pokémon whose presence changes the weather around it. Its arrival thus connects a very tangible icy phenomenon with accounts from people lost in the mountains, without these entries explaining why it reveals itself to them.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Articuno’s long blue feathers are said to be made of ice, reports Pokémon Sword. The Pokédex presents this material as a belief, fitting for a Pokémon that is rarely approached. Its tail drifting above the mountains adds to the impression of a bird shaped by the cold it controls.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
