CARDEX BACKGROUND
Gardevoir can sense danger before it becomes visible. The Pokédex credits it with seeing the future and links this ability to protecting a Trainer to whom it is attached. Its power reaches its peak when it tries to defend them. This bond gives its abilities a purpose: foresee a threat, then respond on someone else's behalf, even at the risk of its own life.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later. This Gardevoir's first attack starts at 20 damage and adds 10 for every Energy attached to it and to the Defending Pokémon. The second deals 60 damage and removes its Weakness during the opponent's next turn. The printing combines both sides' resources in one calculation, then protects Gardevoir from its own vulnerability.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
