CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Exploud's cry can produce strong vibrations, even shaking the ground. A deep breath signals that it is about to unleash a particularly powerful roar. Yet it does not always communicate this way: sounds also emerge from the holes and tubes on its body. The Pokédex specifies that it mainly reserves its raised voice for battle. Humans are said to have once used the reach of its cries to send messages between distant towns.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Sword reports an ancient use of Exploud's cry as a signal between towns. Alpha Sapphire distinguishes its battle howl from the whistles produced by its bodily tubes. Omega Ruby describes the vibrations of its roars as strong enough to shake the ground.
