CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Pignite turns what it eats into fuel for the fire in its stomach. The more Berries it swallows, the stronger its flames can become. As the internal blaze intensifies, its speed and agility also increase. Anger further fans this fire. In an emergency, it can spit smoke instead of flames. The Pokédex therefore directly connects diet and mood with its movement and defense.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon X makes Berries a fuel reserve: eating more lets Pignite produce more flames. Pokémon Black describes the smoke it spits in an emergency. Its fire therefore does not always have the same intensity or purpose.
