Printed language: English · Pokémon
CARDEX BACKGROUND
Tyranitar travels through mountains looking for opponents strong enough to withstand it. Its strength can destroy rock and alter the places it passes through; it may even bring down a mountain to build its nest. The Pokédex notes that it may ignore a rival it considers too weak. Its journey is therefore a search for a challenge as much as a movement from place to place: the landscape bears the traces of its decisions and battles.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later. After an angry Tyranitar passes through, geographical maps sometimes have to be redrawn: mountains have disappeared and rivers have been buried. Pokémon Black takes the description beyond a simple battle. The event described in the Pokédex affects the entire terrain, with lasting consequences for those navigating it.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
