CARDEX BACKGROUND
Empoleon cuts through water at a speed the Pokédex compares with a speedboat. Its sharp wings can split a drifting block of ice. Within a group, the three horns on its beak signal its strength: the leader’s are the most imposing. It also fiercely defends its honour and reacts violently when it feels humiliated. Its majestic bearing thus rests on real power in water and on ice.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Pokémon Y connects the size of Empoleon’s beak horns with the leader’s rank. Pokémon X explains that its wings can split a block of ice. The signs of its authority therefore accompany physical abilities that can be assessed in its environment.
