CARDEX BACKGROUND

The story behind this Trainer card

Armor Fossil is played as a Colorless Basic Pokémon while also counting as a Trainer. It can neither retreat nor be affected by Special Conditions. Its Knock Out counts as a Pokémon being Knocked Out; voluntarily discarding it during your turn before attacking does not. The effect clearly distinguishes these two ways of leaving play.

Background on this Trainer card’s printed effect; its edition, language and finish remain distinct.

A detail worth noticing

Voluntary discard and a Knock Out have different status in this text. The Fossil may be removed before your attack without counting as a Knocked Out Pokémon, while an actual Knock Out is counted.
