CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Hakamo-o sometimes announces its attack by clashing its scales until it finds a sustained rhythm. It then leaps at its target with a cry and strikes with fists and claws. Its scales regularly fall off and regrow, becoming harder and sharper with every renewal. Areas of its body left without scales also bear traces of past battles, which it displays to defeated opponents. Its armor therefore tells the story of both growth and combat.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Moon states that scales shed by Hakamo-o conduct heat well and can be worked into pots and pans. Pokémon Sword describes the scarred parts of its body as marks of strength displayed after victory.
