CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Leavanny cares for young Pokémon by sewing them clothes from leaves. It cuts the material with its blades and joins it with sticky thread. For very small Sewaddle, it also makes swaddling clothes. The Pokédex says it warms Eggs with heat from humus. Its manual skill therefore protects young before and after hatching rather than making clothes for itself alone.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon White describes Leavanny using humus warmth to heat Eggs. Pokémon Black recounts the leaf clothing it sews for little Pokémon. Its care therefore begins before the young even need their first outfits.
