CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Combusken strengthens its legs by running through fields and along mountain slopes. In battle, its powerful thighs deliver a flurry of kicks while its body's flames intensify. It can also breathe fire and give a shrill cry that troubles its opponent. The Pokédex describes a fighter that prepares for every confrontation through training: the speed of its legs does not come only from its fiery energy.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Omega Ruby credits Combusken with up to ten kicks in one second. Pokémon Alpha Sapphire adds that its cry disrupts its opponent. Its attacks therefore draw on its legs, its fire and even its voice.
