CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Woobat explores caves and dark forests by emitting ultrasound through its nose. The nose also works as a suction cup: it uses it to cling to walls and leaves a heart-shaped mark. These traces can reveal its presence before it is seen flying. It seeks Bug-type Pokémon for food. The Pokédex thus connects its nose with navigation, rest and the signs it leaves behind.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon White explains that Woobat's nose lets it adhere to walls and imprint a heart on them. Pokémon Sword presents these marks as evidence of its presence in a cave. The trace sometimes considered lucky is first the result of how it hangs.
