CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Serperior holds its head high before an opponent and can paralyse it with its gaze alone. It also accumulates solar energy in its body. Yet it fully commits to battle only against an enemy powerful enough to resist its intimidation. The Pokédex depicts a proud creature that first assesses its opponent: its power is measured not only by its energy, but also by how it chooses to use it.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Black attributes a paralysing effect to Serperior’s gaze. Pokémon X explains that it gives its full potential against opponents unimpressed by that gaze. Its intimidation technique therefore also selects the battles that push it to surpass itself.
