CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Sliggoo crawls slowly, protected by mucus capable of dissolving whatever it touches. It has no teeth: to feed, it sprays prey with solvent, then absorbs what it has liquefied. Its brain and other organs are in the spiral bump on its back. The Pokédex explains that this chemical defense let it survive despite physical weakness. It devotes its energy mainly to eating and escaping.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Sun places Sliggoo's brain inside its back protrusion. Pokémon Moon explains that it liquefies prey because it lacks teeth. Its soft body therefore hides a vital organ high up and a highly corrosive feeding method.
