CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Torterra carries a space on its back where small Pokémon can gather and build nests. Some are said to be born there and even spend their entire lives there. When it stays still, its body resembles a piece of landscape enough to shelter other beings. The Pokédex reports that people once imagined a gigantic Torterra living beneath the Earth's surface. This belief extends the image of a back become a miniature world.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Black reports that small Pokémon can be born on Torterra's back. Pokémon Y places their nests there when it stays still. Its shell is therefore described as a habitat beyond its role in personal protection.
