CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Zekrom spins its tail like an immense generator and releases lightning around itself. It can wrap its body in an electric cloud before soaring through Unova’s sky. Legends attribute to it the power to strike the world with lightning, but also a choice: it is said to support people who pursue their ideals. Another tradition relates that it would punish a country that had lost its sense of justice. Its electricity therefore carries a moral story as well as physical force.

A detail worth noticing

The Pokémon Sword entry compares Zekrom’s tail to an engine: its rotation generates lightning that flashes through the surroundings. In Pokémon Shield, its power becomes the subject of legend, as an unjust country is said to risk being reduced to ashes.
