CARDEX BACKGROUND

The role of this Energy

Ignition Energy supplies one Colorless Energy while attached to a Pokémon. On an Evolution Pokémon, the same card supplies three instead of one. This addition does not last: the rule requires discarding the card at the end of the turn when it was attached. You must decide which Pokémon will best use this brief reserve. Unlike a permanent resource, its effect changes with the holder's evolution stage and ends after the specified turn.

Background on this Special Energy’s effect; the printed text, edition and finish of each card remain distinct.

A detail worth noticing

Ignition Energy's text leaves one Colorless Energy for a Pokémon that is not an Evolution Pokémon, then increases to three for an Evolution Pokémon. The end-of-turn discard remains mandatory in both cases: the bonus does not make the card lasting Energy.
