CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Arctibax cools the air around it to protect itself and fight. It forms an ice mask over its face, then turns its frozen dorsal fin into a blade. To drive it into an opponent, it can perform a forward somersault in the air. Its powerful legs and back make this acrobatics possible despite its body weight. Cold is therefore more than a breath: it also shapes its equipment and determines how it strikes.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Scarlet separately describes two uses of cold: a mask in front of the face and a blade on the dorsal fin. Pokémon Violet specifies that Arctibax strikes with this blade by performing a forward rotation.
