Poké Ball

CARDEX BACKGROUND

The story behind this Trainer card

This version of Poké Ball makes searching for a Pokémon depend on a coin flip. On a favorable result, the player searches their deck for a Pokémon, reveals it, and puts it into their hand before shuffling the deck. An unfavorable result leaves the search unsuccessful. The card thus evokes capture through uncertainty rather than guaranteeing a partner. It does not put the Pokémon directly onto the Bench.

A detail worth noticing

The coin decides whether the search can begin, not which Pokémon is chosen from the deck. On success, the effect allows a Pokémon without specifying its Evolution stage. The stated destination is the hand; the Bench is not mentioned in this text.
