The Pokémon’s story

Tatsugiri is a small Dragon-type Pokémon that takes refuge in Dondozo's mouth. This hiding place protects it from outside enemies. Yet it is not passive: the Pokédex describes it as particularly cunning. It can feign weakness to attract prey, then order its partner to attack. Their association thus combines shelter and strategy. Tatsugiri benefits from Dondozo's size while its own cunning prepares the moment when the larger Pokémon intervenes.

Pokémon Scarlet places Tatsugiri safely inside Dondozo's mouth. Pokémon Violet reveals the pair's tactic: the small Pokémon pretends to be weak to draw prey closer, then asks its partner to strike.
