CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Pidgeot flies over water to locate prey, then dives and catches it with its talons. Its large wings also serve to impress an opponent and raise violent gusts. The Pokédex credits it with remarkable flight speed when hunting. Its shining crest catches Trainers’ eyes, but the beauty of its plumage does not erase its role as a predator capable of switching very quickly from peaceful flight to a dive.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Y credits Pidgeot with speeds of up to Mach 2. Pokémon X describes a more precise hunt: it watches the water’s surface before diving at prey. Speed is therefore only part of its technique.
