CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Metang appears when two Beldum unite through magnetic attraction. Their connected brains produce stronger psychic power without necessarily making it more cunning. It can fly by directing its arms and pursue prey among steep peaks. Magnetic minerals also attract it, even leading it to hunt Nosepass. The Pokédex thus shows an iron body whose movement, feeding and mental power all depend on magnetism.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Sun explains that the fusion of two Beldum doubles Metang’s psychic power without increasing its intelligence. Pokémon Moon credits it with pursuing Nosepass at 100 km/h. Its two brains and magnetic body therefore do not serve the same kind of performance.
